Following the submission of a comprehensive Master Plan for the Marshall Dam Residential development by Ruben Reddy Architects, the site was earmarked for the Athletes Village and residential component for the Durban Games.
RRA was tasked with the Master Plan to re-purpose the site to include the extensive temporary infrastructure required for the Commonwealth Games. The infrastructure comprises of a logistics compound, a large dining hall to accommodate all athletes, a transport hub, as well as the international zone including services for athletes, the media centre and shops.
